Season to Season Swap - Winter

For this swap I worked on Janet's block. It was so pretty and beautifully embellished before I got it that I had a really hard time trying to figure out what to do to it. I do hope she likes it. I added the lace; the beaded snowflakes in the trees; the sequin trees on a snowy slope; the star by the tree and the moon in the starry sky.

Once I decided on the sequin trees on the snowy slopes, I figured that it would also work for the CQI January challenge of snow/snowflakes. I took some of the fun fur (I guess that is what you would call it) and trimmed down the long strands. I layered 3 of these along the slope and then added one with the strands uncut over that. I forgot to take a close up to show it better.

I also made snowflakes in the trees using seed beads and bugle beads.

I sure do hope Janet likes what I did on her block.

Here's Wishing You and Yours

A Wonderful, Joyous

and Blessed

Christmas
According to Luke:
While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

This year for Christmas Tommy and I were not able to afford much for all of our family, so I made small gifts for everyone. I made quilted coasters and scented door knockers. I also made 5 baby blankets (pics to come soon) and 4 quilts (pics to come soon).

This is the beautiful doll I received in the Crazy Quilting Internationals Spirit of Friendship Christmas Doll Swap. She was created by Jo in New Zealand. Isn't she just exquisite. Jo's stitches are so tiny and so perfect. I hope to be able to stitch like her when I grow up.
This is the tussie mussie I received from Laurence in England. This was a swap hosted by Pat Winter's on her blog. It is unlike anything I ever seen. Isn't it beautiful! She did so much work on it. Then she filled it with lots of goodies.

Tommy picked out the boot that I was to receive in this swap. He chose Lauri's from Colorado. He said he picked it cause it is blue, silver, and white. They were the colors of our wedding.

Lauri includes lots and lots of goodies in her beautiful stocking.
